Homemade Bread
Delicious and free from additives and preservatives like store bought bread!
You can easily double this recipe also!

Ingredients:
1/4 cup milk
5 teaspoons white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1.5 tablespoons butter
1 package of active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
2.5-3.5 cups flour (whole wheat and/or all-purpose)
Non-stick cooking spray
Bread pan
Kitchen Aid mixer with a dough hook attachment OR your hands! :)Directions:
-Warm your mixing bowl (I usually just run some hot water in it and let it sit for a few minutes)
-Mix your package of yeast with 1 cup warm water
-Melt butter in microwave (or stove) and add to yeast mixture
-Add milk, sugar, and salt to yeast mixture
-Add 2 cups of flour to mixture, mix well
-Continue adding flour 1/4 cup at a time until dough is slightly sticky and “cleans” the sides of the bowl (I alternate between whole wheat & all purpose)
-On a floured surface, knead dough for about 10 minutes
-Spray a clean bowl with non-stick cooking spray
-Shape into a ball and place in the bowl
-Cover and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour (I turn my oven on low to begin preheating and place my bowl on the stove)
-After 1 hour, punch dough back down to original size and spread into a flat rectangular shape on the floured surface
-Roll dough up (hotdog style) and tuck ends under
-Spray bread pan with cooking spray and place bread in
-Cover and let rise in a warm area for another hour
-After 1 hour, place in oven and bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees FahrenheitLet cool COMPLETELY before slicing! Fight the temptation to slice into it early! :)
